Central America, the blue-browed motmot is a bird of the family Momotidae. Very characteristic with its two rectrices adorned with blue and black feathers, the blue-browed motmot, so called because of its turquoise eyebrows at the level of the head, is a medium-sized bird, whose range is between Mexico and Costa Rica. Frequenting wooded areas, such as deciduous forests and bushes, the blue-browed motmot feeds mainly on insects and small reptiles. Well adapted to the surrounding vegetation, the blue-browed motmot is quite well represented, and is not threatened.
