Styxianisches Mausoleum (Concepts #1)

A tribute to Arnold Bocklin and his eternal 'Island of the Dead'. A friend and I came up with the idea of turning the famous painting into a whole new universe and we have been working on it.
There will be more to come soon, but this is just the first part.
For this first part, I worked mainly on the exterior, choosing a Roman inspiration. Unlike the Bocklin paintings, which are (unmistakably) darker, I wanted to go for cloudy but relatively calm weather. In short, I went for something closer to the 3rd version of Toteninsel.
I don't know when I'll be releasing the next concepts but I'll try not to delay too long haha.
